Summer Wedding Style

Summer Wedding Style

Spring is finally here and with it comes some of my favorite things. Longer days, warmer nights and all of the sounds of spring. While I love the sights and sounds that spring brings, I must admit that my favorite part is knowing that summer is right around the corner. With spring in full swing its time to start preparing for one of the most important seasons that fashion has to offer… wedding season!

It is known that there are more nuptials said in June than in any other month. Couples have chosen to say their love laced "I do's" under summer skies for centuries; and for just as long their guests have wondered what to wear. It can be a challenge to be wedding appropriate while being seasonally in style.

Also, it's important to keep in mind the rules of engagement while shopping for wedding guest attire this summer. Here are a few wedding attire rules of engagement:

Never wear white unless requested by the bride or groom. This rule is an oldie but goodie! White is usually reserved for the bride, as you do not want your attire to take any attention away or compete with the bride on her special day.

The formality of your attire should match the formality of the event. Don't be the odd woman out and show up to a black tie evening wedding in your casual brunch dress! Instead you should ask whomever is hosting the wedding for advice on proper attire, or pay close attention to the invitation style and wording, which usually offers clues as to how the wedding will look and feel.

Your attire should be venue appropriate. If you're attending a garden ceremony play it up with florals and prints. On the flip side, you don't want to attend a church ceremony in your Friday night's go-to club dress… not a good look.

Regardless of how you spring into your summer style, make it fun, make it you and make it FAB!
